For many believers, faith is not just about attending church every Sunday—it is about finding strength, hope and purpose. This was the spirit that filled Kagiso over the weekend as the United Pentecostal Church gathered to celebrate God’s faithfulness.
The United Pentecostal Church, founded by Professor and Archbishop Bafana Tshegameno and his wife, Dr Rose Tshegameno, hosted a successful Ceremonial Celebration at its headquarters in Kagiso Avenue on Saturday, 5 September.
The celebration brought together congregants and members from various branches for a day of praise, worship, thanksgiving and reflection on God’s grace and protection.
The early hours were filled with worship and prayer as members gathered to give thanks for God’s guidance and wisdom throughout the years. The occasion also encouraged congregants to remain committed to their faith and the church’s mission of preaching the gospel without compromise.
Professor and Archbishop Bafana Tshegameno said the celebration was a reminder of how God had carried the church through the years.
He referred to Philippians 2:2, saying the church should remain strong, united and focused on one purpose, with members showing the same love and commitment.
Apostle William Seleka urged people to believe in God and recognise His presence through His works.
“People should learn to know God and that He’s alive,” Seleka said, adding that the ceremony was a testimony of God’s work and a reason for His children to be grateful.
Archbishop Steven Harab also delivered a message aimed at young people, urging them to seek God during their formative years and remain faithful.
He called on older members to guide young people who may be struggling with their faith.
The ceremony ended with congregants praying, praising and giving thanks to God, reinforcing the church’s commitment to faith, unity, community and the continued preaching of the gospel.
