TakealotNOW expands Cape Town footprint with 10th hub in Constantia
Takealot’s on-demand delivery service, TakealotNOW, has expanded its Cape Town footprint with the opening of a new hub in Constantia. The new location is the service’s 10th hub and will serve customers across the Southern Suburbs, including Kenilworth, Constantia, Tokai, Grassy Park and Muizenberg.
The expansion comes as demand for faster access to everyday products continues to grow, with TakealotNOW offering customers access to thousands of Takealot products for delivery in an average of around 40 minutes through the Mr D app.
While quick commerce has traditionally focused on grocery delivery, TakealotNOW has expanded the category to include a broader range of general merchandise. Customers can order products ranging from tech accessories, beauty and personal care items to books, toys, sports equipment, DIY supplies, homeware, small appliances and more.
“The opening of our 10th hub is a significant milestone for TakealotNOW. It means we can reach more customers in the Southern Suburbs and make a wider range of products available to them when they need them,” says Karla Levick, Chief Marketing Officer at Takealot.com.
Since launching in 2023, TakealotNOW has continued to expand its network across South Africa, with a growing network of hubs in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
The range of products ordered through TakealotNOW reflects the everyday and sometimes unexpected needs that drive demand for on-demand delivery. Recent orders have included:
● Montego Classic Adult Dog Food 20kg
● Baby Soft Toilet Paper 18-pack
● Pregnancy tests
● Lego Speed Champions
● Fujifilm Instax Mini Film
● Apple AirPods and iPads
● Xiaomi TV Box S
As the service continues to grow, Takealot says it will focus on expanding access to a wider range of products, serving more neighbourhoods through its network of hubs.
