Johannesburg came alive with pure SA20 flair as Montrose Primary School turned into a stadium of cheers, music and non-stop excitement. Even the rain couldn’t slow things down. The SA20 Schools Tour rolled in and instantly flipped an ordinary school day into a full-blown celebration of cricket, culture and youth energy.

The tour, held ahead of Season 4, is travelling across the country to reconnect with communities and build hype for a massive summer of cricket.

The loudest cheers of the day came when Joburg Super Kings stars Steven Stolk and Donovan Ferreira stepped onto the field. Learners rushed in for photos, autographs, questions and cricket fun with the two fan favourites.

Stolk said the kids’ passion reminded him why South Africans love cricket so deeply. Ferreira added that the energy felt from the moment they arrived showed how inspiring young fans can be.

The visit turned into a mini talent show too, with the players joining learners in freestyle rap battles, singing moments and dance offs that had the whole school buzzing.

TV personality and SA20’s vibrant 20th Player, Moshe Ndiki, hosted the event with his trademark humour and high energy. He kept spirits high despite the rain and led the school in chanting the new SA20 anthem, “Put Your Hands Up,” produced by global DJ Fedde Le Grand.

Rap star YoungstaCPT delivered some of the day’s biggest moments. Learners threw random words at him and he flipped them into sharp, funny freestyle bars that sent the crowd into screams and laughter.

Rain or not, the energy never dropped, if anything, it pushed the vibe higher.

The SA20 Schools Tour forms part of the build up to Season 4, running from 26 December 2025 to 25 January 2026, bringing world class cricket and festival entertainment to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha and Paarl.

Fans can also look forward to big name performances this season, with top DJ Shimza opening the tournament and hitmaker Will Linley performing at the Season 4 Final.

Both the Opening Match and Final are already sold out, and remaining tickets are moving fast. Fans are encouraged to secure their seats early to enjoy the full SA20 festival atmosphere.

Tickets are available at SA20.co.za and at all stadium ticket offices.
