Orlando Pirates showed class and control as they beat Magesi FC 2-0 in a Betway Premiership clash played at a packed Orlando Stadium.

The Buccaneers started on the front foot, pressing high and moving the ball quickly. Their early pressure paid off when Yanela Mbuthuma broke the deadlock, finishing calmly to give Pirates the lead and settle the crowd.

Pirates continued to dominate possession and dictate the tempo. Magesi struggled to get out of their half as the home side’s midfield controlled the game and closed down spaces effectively.

Before the break, the Sea Robbers doubled their advantage. Young star Relebohile Mofokeng struck with confidence, showing sharp movement and composure in front of goal to make it 2-0 going into half-time.
In the second half, Pirates managed the game smartly. They kept their shape, recycled possession, and limited Magesi to very few clear chances. While more goals could have come, the home side remained disciplined and focused on seeing out the result.

Magesi tried to respond with changes, but Pirates’ defence stayed solid and organised, ensuring a clean sheet.

The win earned Pirates three important points and kept them firmly in the title race, sending a clear message to their rivals. It was a professional performance built on teamwork, hunger, and attacking intent.

For the Buccaneers, it was a night of control, confidence, and ruthless finishing, a true statement victory.
