WE all know that grassroots football is the foundation of long-term success.
Winning the Africa Cup of Nations or making a deep run at the FIFA World Cup doesn’t start with the senior national team.
But it starts with children playing and receiving quality coaching in communities, schools, and academies across the country.
For South Africa national soccer team to consistently compete with the world’s best, several areas need attention.

Youth academies: More investment in identifying and developing talented players from a young age.
School football: Strong school competitions can create a larger pool of skilled players.
Coach education: Better-trained youth coaches help players develop proper technique and tactical understanding.
Facilities like the one Hisense South Africa is introducing today will kids to access quality pitches and training equipment right here in the heart of SOWETO.

Hisense South Africa for business and development manager Vinod Balram said the sod-turning event will see a state-of-the-art five-a-side pitch be erected at the Soweto towers for the improvement of soccer in the country.
Speaking to the media was Luna Nortje.
“This pitch development is a promise to the next generation. The video is a message from Soweto to Bafana Bafana, but the project itself is a longer-term commitment to young people, community pride and the belief that sport can open doors,” said Luna. She’s the deputy general manager at Hisense South Africa.

Luna said regular high-level competition prepares players for professional football.
Countries such as Morocco, Senegal, and Japan have shown how sustained investment in youth development can translate into success on the international stage.
As the saying goes, you don’t build a national team—you build a football system, and the national team is its product.

If South Africa strengthens its grassroots structures today, the dream of seeing Bafana Bafana lift another AFCON trophy and compete strongly at future World Cups becomes much more achievable.
Bafana Bafana are currently participating in the world cup competition in America and if they go passed the group stages and all the way to the final Mzansi will be proud of their achievement.

Soon they will play soccer in a well structured facility, watch this space. Go Hisense go. South African soccer will never be the same again, this is because of big companies like Hisense.

A sod turning took place on Thursday 11 June right at the Soweto towers in Soweto. The facility will be erected very soon. Halala Hisense halala
