Lebogang Maile is set to table the 2026 Gauteng Provincial Budget Speech at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on 10 March, outlining how the province plans to allocate resources and drive economic growth in the year ahead.

The budget presentation will provide a detailed roadmap of government spending priorities under the province’s Medium-Term Expenditure Framework, focusing on key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, transport and social development.

As the economic powerhouse of South Africa, Gauteng plays a crucial role in driving national growth. The upcoming budget is expected to reflect the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening the economy while addressing service delivery challenges faced by communities.

The financial plan will build on priorities outlined earlier by Panyaza Lesufi during the State of the Province Address, where job creation, infrastructure investment and improved public services were identified as key focus areas for the provincial administration.

Maile is expected to outline how government intends to balance responsible spending with the need to stimulate development and support communities across the province.

Despite economic pressures and rising costs affecting many sectors, the upcoming budget is widely seen as an opportunity to reinforce stability, restore confidence and accelerate development initiatives.

With Gauteng continuing to attract investment and innovation, the budget speech is expected to highlight practical steps aimed at unlocking opportunities, supporting businesses and ensuring that economic progress translates into tangible benefits for residents across the province.
