The City of Johannesburg’s Randburg Customer Service Centre will officially re-open its doors on Wednesday, 9th July 2025, after two years since closure due to a fire that gutted the centre.
The centre which is situated at corner Bram Fischer Drive and Jan Smuts Avenue, has been upgraded by the City with state-of-the-art equipment, and is ready to serve customers again as the main walk-in-centre for customers in Region B. The centre went through extensive renovations following the fire that gutted the building two years ago. During the closure and renovation work, the City had set up a temporary centre in Ferndale for services to continue.
Kgamanyane Maphologela, Director for Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, says the City is excited to re-open the Randburg Centre and resume services to assist customers at an upgraded and improved centre.
“The City is delighted to finally re-open the Randburg Customer Service Centre and welcome customers to the newly refurbished centre in Region B. We encourage our customers to take ownership of the centre and treat it as their own,” says Maphologela.
Maphologela says customers can start to visit the Centre from the 9th of July when the centre re-opens.
Some of the key improvements at the centre include:
- The installation of new cubicles and chairs for customers
- A newly designed reception area to enhance service flow
- A new air conditioning system
- Restructured layout which integrates cashier services with other key services.
