CHILDREN above the age of two left The Rand Show feeling like princes and princesses on Saturday.
The family of nine from Protea Glen in Soweto arrived at The Rand Show early morning and left at 5pm when they no longer had money to pay for rides.
Their two-year old baby who was too young to walk was strapped on her mothers’ back.
Excited mum Lebohang Modise (44) told Ezimtoti News: “Every year we budget R3000 for food and entertainment. All these expenses exclude tickets and transport,” she said.
“Every year I ride a helicopter, but there was not enough money for me this year to do so.”
Lebohang said all rides are expensive, ranging from R80-100.

And if one has a big family like theirs, it is important to satisfy every single one of them.
But it’s not the end of the world for this family, as they’re planning to take their children to Gold Reef City very soon to have more fun.
Every Easter holidays, the Modise family goes to church on Thursdays and Fridays, while Saturdays are reserved for The Rand Show.
She said they spend a lot of money at the show due to the high cost of living in South Africa.
As a result, her yearly budget is due for some changes as they can’t go to The Rand Show by themselves, leaving the children at home.
Her children are between the ages of two and eighteen years.
