BROTHERHOOD REIGNITED: ZOR’S “GENTLEMEN’S FIRE” IGNITES CONVERSATIONS, COURAGE, AND COMMUNITY

ZOR’s highly anticipated Gentlemen’s Fire – An Exotic Braai Experience, hosted in partnership with Sir Bongani Luvalo, delivered an unforgettable evening of reflection, vulnerability, and powerful dialogue in honour of International Men’s Day.

Held at ZOR’s signature outdoor fire terrace in Dainfern Square, the event brought together an extraordinary circle of leaders, fathers, professionals, and community builders who gathered not only to celebrate manhood but to redefine it.

Under Johannesburg’s twilight sky, guests were welcomed into a setting where fire met fellowship, and masculinity was explored through courage, vulnerability, and conscious leadership.

Conversations by the Fire: Voices That Moved the Night

In true ZOR spirit, the evening unfolded through a series of intimate and unfiltered talks that challenged perceptions, inspired introspection, and championed the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of men.

Key speakers included:

•Dr. Mzamo Mashito – “The Quiet Battle”: a powerful conversation on men’s mental health, internal battles, and emotional healing.

•Andile Zulu – “The Legacy Within”: a reflection on purpose, fatherhood, and the pursuit of meaningful generational impact.

•Adv. Katlego – “The Law of Legacy”: emphasising the importance of legal guardianship, protecting family wealth, and building responsible futures.

•Mandla Mbonambi (Entrepreneur) – on the unifying power of sport, patriotism, and identity.

•Mbeki Khumalo (RMB) – on financial resilience and leading with clarity in a complex economic climate.

A Particularly Stirring Moment: Nkululeko Ndunge (EFF Regional Chairperson – Ekurhuleni)

A standout contribution came from Nkululeko Ndunge, who addressed the deeply rooted social issues affecting Black boys and young men.

Speaking with urgency, he highlighted:

•the lack of access to quality education,

•systemic barriers that shape the future of the Black male child,

•the need for community-driven mentorship, safety, and support structures.

“If we do not fight for the mind of the Black boy, we lose the nation. Access to education is not a privilege, it is a lifeline.”-Nkululeko Ndunge

His words resonated profoundly, shifting the evening’s energy from conversation to conviction.

Led by Sir Bongani Luvalo: A Night of Vulnerability and Vision

With his trademark wit, warmth, and emotional intelligence, Sir Bongani Luvalo curated the flow of the night with seamless grace -guiding guests into reflective spaces where titles faded, and truth emerged.

“We wanted men to put down the armour. To listen. To feel. To lead from a place of heart, not ego.” -Sir Bongani Luvalo

Fire Meets Flavour: ZOR’s Exotic Braai Table

Guests indulged in a sensory culinary experience curated by ZOR’s Executive Chef, featuring:

•flame-seared ostrich skewers

The décor blended leather, flame, African textures, and jazz-infused ambience, creating the perfect stage for soulful connection.

A Night of Legacy: Letters to My Younger Self

In one of the night’s most emotional moments, guests participated in “Letters to My Younger Self”, penning reflections and lessons they wished someone had told them earlier in life.

These letters will now form part of ZOR’s Men’s Wall of Legacy – a living, evolving archive of wisdom for future generations.

The night culminated in a candlelit toast: “To the men who rise, lead, and love without applause. Tonight, our fire burns for legacy.” -Sir Bongani Luvalo
