WILL DURBAN CITY DELAY PIRATES TITLE CELEBRATIONS TOMORROW?

This Saturday, Orlando Amstel Arena will be brimming with excitement as Orlando Pirates play their final home league game against the newly crowned Nedbank Cup champions (Durban City).

Pirates are favourites to win the Betway Premiership title this season after failing to win it for their fans since 2012.

Second place Amabhakaniya come to this match having accumulated 65 points from 28 matches. Their two games in hand could come as an advantage to finish high above Mamelodi Sundowns who are leading the Betway Premiership log standings with 68 points. Sundowns have already completed their games of the season and now focusing on the CAF champions league final against AS FAR of Morocco this Sunday in Tshwane.

Should Pirates win against Durban City FC this Saturday, they will go into their last away game stress free knowing that they are 2025/26 Betway Premiership champions.

If Pirates win both of their remaining league matches they will finish at 71 points.

But failing to win both games, Sundowns will be crowned Betway Premiership champions for a record nineth time in a row.

Bucs first choice goalie, Sipho Chain, consistently breaks records by maintaining more than eighteen clean sheets. 

If he doesn’t concede any goal this weekend he would have reached 20 clean sheets for the 2025/26 campaign.

So far this season, Pirates have managed to win a brace of cups, the Carling Cup, and the MTN 8 trophy.

Now, they want a big fish the Betway Premiership trophy.
