Mamelodi Sundowns need their supporters to rally behind the team if they are to continue to improve and ride the wave of positivity around their recent performances in the Betway Premiership.

For the first time in their history Sundowns will play Orbit College FC at Loftus Versfeld Stadium this evening, and kickoff is at 19h30.

It is also Masandawana’s first match of 2026 after taking a short break due to the 2025 Afcon tournament which took place in Morocco late last year.

Sundowns go to this match knowing that if they win tonight, they will occupy the top spot unseating Orlando Pirates who have been on top of the Betway Premiership log table since December though Sundowns have played two games more than the Bhakaniyas.Sundowns defender, Aubrey Modiba, said they were excited to be back in action.

“It’s good to be back in the league as well. We haven’t been competed this year in the league. It’s going to be an interesting game against Obit, the team that we never played against,” he said

“But we’ve been watching them. We know how they play. They’re going to give us a tough time. But no game is easy in the PSL, but I think we’re going to make sure that we do well for ourselves and for our supporters.”

Aubrey knows that with their supporters by their side, they will have strength to overcome the newly promoted side. All they needed to do is get the three points after 90 minutes and sit comfortably on top of the league. When asked about Monnapule Saleng who has just joined them this month, this is what he said:

“He was a very good player for them (Orbit College). And I’m just happy with the signing as well with the team because what he can do is capable of doing what he has done in the previous team and it’s a good addition to the team and we’re looking forward to play with him and hopefully can help us in the second round of league.”

There’s a lot of opportunities for Sundowns supporters this season as well. Arriving early at stadium will help supporters to stand a good chance of winning themselves a brand new car.

But only purchased tickets help you win the car at the end of the 2025/26 season.

However, Betway and Ezimtoti News are giving away FREE double tickets to the lucky readers to go and watch the game this evening in Tshwane.
