IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN TO RECOGNISE THE COMMUNITY HEROES

THE Unilever South Africa acknowledges the extraordinary efforts made by excellent community-led nutrition through the ‘We Give A Bull’ campaign.

The nutritional campaign by Knorrox was started to identify and empower the good work done by community heroes in the townships of Mzansi.

This February, Knorrox is inviting the public to nominate men and women who cook for people or run feeding schemes using limited resources within the area of Gauteng.

The concept of appreciating and recognising these community heroes has gained nationwide prominence, and, as a result, the Gauteng public is asked to nominate their heroes.

Thobeka Goba, marketing manager for Knorrox at Unilever South Africa, said the campaign has assisted a lot of community heroes across the country and Sindi Kunene from Kwazulu Natal benefited from the programme post COVID-19.

Kunene was a speaker at the ‘We Give A Bull’ campaign launch, which was held on Thursday 19 February at Milpark, Joburg. She said her mother has made her the strong woman she is today.

“My mom used to say when you see somebody struggling for something, try and help that person,” said the founder and director of Kunedube Foundation.

She said it is very difficult to find a job to feed your family.

“Some people are not educated, so they can’t get good jobs. If they do get jobs, they’re just piece jobs which you cannot sustain your family with a piece job.

“I have a heart and a passion for those people who are in need, and I cook for them only on Tuesdays and Thursdays for now.”

But once more sponsors come in, she would be able to cook for them daily.

How to nominate:

Submit nominations via the Knorrox Brand Page on social media platforms, including nominee details, the work they do and the impact they make.

Selected heroes will receive nutrition empowerment support, including fortified Knorrox products, training, and educational assets to strengthen and scale their community impact.
