27 OCTOBER 2025 – First National Bank (FNB) has joined forces with Reunyte, a fintech company that helps people trace and retrieve unclaimed benefits such as pensions, investments, and policies. The partnership forms part of FNB’s promise to use technology to bring real help and value to its customers.

Through Reunyte’s smart tracing platform, FNB and RMB Private Bank clients can now check if they have unclaimed benefits waiting for them. The system gathers data from different sources into one database, making it easier to find and process unpaid funds.

In the first few months, FNB has already matched 6,000 customers with R10 million in unclaimed money.

“We’re excited about the impact this partnership has on our customers,” said Christelle Pretorius, CEO of FNB Personal Core Banking. “By combining FNB’s banking experience with Reunyte’s technology, we can help connect people with money that rightfully belongs to them. This is about trust, care, and helping families in times of need.”

According to the Financial Services Conduct Authority (FSCA), there is more than R88.5 billion in unclaimed assets across South Africa. FNB and Reunyte hope to reconnect thousands more South Africans with their lost benefits.

Rowan Gordon, CEO of Reunyte, added, “We’re proud to work with FNB to give people back what’s theirs. This partnership is about making a real difference, one unclaimed benefit at a time.”

Customers who qualify will receive in-app messages and emails from FNB guiding them through the claiming process.

For help, customers can email claimfunds@fnb.co.za or call 087 030 4561 (option 1) to confirm their details.
