AS Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone ranch – they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire.
In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be a soul – leading Beth and Rip into a violent fight for a fresh start on the 7 000-acre Dutton Ranch.
Deadline’s Peter White contextualises Dutton Ranch in the Sheridan-verse: “The nine-part series follows Beth and Rip as they fight to build a future together. At the end of Season Five of Yellowstone, Beth’s brother Jamie, played by Wes Bentley, tries to kill her before Rip intervenes, allowing her to stab her brother to death. The couple then start a new life on a new ranch with Carter… who they looked after in the original series.”

The season 1 casts also includes Finn Little (Yellowstone’s Carter), Juan Pablo Raba (Freelance), Jai Courtney (The Suicide Squad), J.R. Villarreal (Sheridan’s Landman), Marc Menchaca (Ozark), Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs) and legends Ed Harris (Westworld) and Annette Bening (Apples Never Fall). Harris plays Everett McKinney, a weathered veteran and veterinarian, while Bening stars as Beulah Jackson, the powerful, cunning and charming head of a major Texas ranch.
Dutton Ranch is based on characters created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson and written by Sheridan himself. Ray Donovan producer Chad Feehan – who also helmed the Sheridan project Lawmen: Bass Reeves – serves as creator, executive producer and showrunner.
Sheridan and Linson also executive produce along with David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Hauser, Reilly, and Keith Cox.
Voros also directs multiple episodes, including the premiere and the season finale. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham also served as directors this season. Paramount Television and 101 Studios produce.
Dutton Ranch is the second Yellowstone spin-off to premiere in 2026, after Marshalls,
which sees Luke Grimes return in the role of Kayce Dutton. Spencer Hudnut, showrunner of Marshals, has revealed that both shows exist in the same timeline and universe, suggesting that there is the possibility of a crossover at some point.
“The appetite for shows from the ‘Sheridan-verse’ continues to grow on M-Net,” says Waldimar Pelser, Channel Director: Premium Channels at MultiChoice, a CANAL+ company. “Taylor Sheridan-written and produced shows are constantly amongst the top-performing series on M-Net – whether on linear or binge-watching on Catch Up – and every new addition and fresh episode only expands the following for his gritty, realistic storylines.”
Dutton Ranch premieres on M-Net on 29 June at 8pm – and is also available on DStv Stream and Catch Up. For more, visit the M-Net Website and join the conversation on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
