Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026 Launches National Search for Health, Wellness and Technology Solutions
Johannesburg, South Africa – South African innovators, entrepreneurs, universities, NGOs, healthcare professionals, researchers, sports scientists and community leaders are being invited to help shape the future of health through the launch of the Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026 campaign.
Officially launched in Johannesburg by Impilo Global Events in partnership with Taiwanese stakeholders, the initiative connects South African ideas with world-class Taiwanese health, wellness, fitness, cycling and smart healthcare technologies.
The campaign offers South Africans a unique opportunity to gain international exposure, build cross-border partnerships and compete for global awards designed to turn innovative ideas into real-world impact.

At a time when healthcare systems worldwide face increasing pressure, the campaign is seeking practical, scalable solutions that improve lives through health technology, preventative healthcare, wellness systems, sports science, fitness innovation and community wellbeing.
Angela Yeung, Founder of Impilo Global Events, said:
“Some of our greatest healthcare challenges require collaboration beyond borders. No country can solve these challenges alone. Through this campaign, South Africans have the opportunity to connect local ideas with global partnerships and innovative technologies that can improve lives and create lasting impact in our communities.”
Participants are invited to submit proposals that combine local implementation with Taiwanese technologies and expertise to address real challenges facing communities across South Africa.
CJ Lo, Director of the Economic Division at the Taipei Liaison Office in South Africa, said:
“You might know Taiwan for our high-tech chips or world-class healthcare, but innovation only matters when it improves people’s lives. Through this campaign, we invite South Africans to share their ideas, identify local needs and work with Taiwanese solutions to build healthier communities from the ground up.”
The opportunity offers substantial rewards. Three winning proposals globally will each receive a US$30,000 award. The top six finalists will be invited to Taiwan for enterprise visits, health innovation experiences and professional pitch coaching, while the top 20 finalists will receive one-on-one mentorship and collaboration opportunities with Taiwanese enterprises.

The campaign has already demonstrated significant international impact. In 2025, Go Healthy with Taiwan attracted 638 proposals from 55 countries, highlighting Taiwan’s growing role as a global connector in healthcare innovation.
Speaking at the South African launch at Workshop17 The Bank, Ellen Hsu, Director of the Taiwan Trade Centre Johannesburg, expressed strong confidence in South Africa’s potential to compete on the world stage.
“Last year our promotion in South Africa was limited, yet we still received several proposals that impressed us greatly. That showed us the tremendous potential that exists here. This year we are expanding our efforts because we believe South Africa has the talent, creativity and innovation needed to compete internationally. We sincerely hope to see a South African proposal among the global winners and showcase local solutions to the world.”
Clive Maistry, South Africa Brand Ambassador for Go Healthy with Taiwan, added:
“This campaign is far more than a competition. It is a platform for creating meaningful partnerships, sharing ideas across borders and developing practical solutions that can improve health outcomes and quality of life. Having recently experienced Taiwan’s remarkable healthcare innovation ecosystem firsthand, I believe South Africans have a unique opportunity to transform local challenges into globally connected solutions.”
Organisers are encouraging submissions from the healthcare, education, technology, entrepreneurship, sports, wellness and social development sectors.
South Africa’s participation represents more than a competition. It is an opportunity to build bridges between Africa and Asia, unlock new collaborations and demonstrate how innovation can create healthier futures for communities across the continent.
The submission deadline is 5 August 2026.
