14 July 2026 – The stage is set for another thrilling chapter of the 2026 Engen Knockout Challenge after the Johannesburg draw was concluded on Tuesday, 14 July at Wits Sport, confirming the group-stage fixtures for this weekend’s tournament.
Set to be hosted at the Wits Marks Park from 17–19 July, the Johannesburg leg of South Africa’s premier youth football tournament will once again bring together the country’s finest emerging talent under the campaign theme, “Where Diski Legends Start.”
The boys’ competition features an exciting mixture of clubs consisting of defending champions Panorama FC alongside some of South African football’s biggest names, including Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns FC, TS Galaxy FC, Highlands Park and Siwelele FC, setting the stage for a fiercely contested weekend.
The girls’ tournament is equally compelling, with defending champions University of Johannesburg returning to defend their crown against a strong field that includes Mamelodi Sundowns FC, TS Galaxy Queens, SAFA Academy and Kaizer Chiefs Ladies, who will make both their Engen Knockout Challenge debut and the first competition appearance following the launch of their women’s team earlier this year.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Engen Knockout Challenge ambassador, Brighton Mhlongo said the Johannesburg leg has consistently showcased the quality of South Africa’s next generation of football stars.
“The Engen Knockout Challenge continues to create opportunities for young players to test themselves against the very best in the country. Johannesburg has always produced exceptional talent, and this weekend is another chance for these players to make their mark and show why this tournament remains true to its theme of Where Diski Legends start,” said Mhlongo.
